This is a
process of gathering and analyzing information to guide planning and action. It
provides a synopsis of a particular situation at a given point in time that can
be useful in policy and strategy development, advocacy social mobilization,
information exchange, stakeholder coordination and collaboration as well as
program design.
In the recent years, PACANet has conducted Situation Analyses for Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, Uganda, Liberia, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Madagascar to achieve the following:
•Develop stronger programs to meet the needs of the target beneficiaries by the church
•Develop relevant and appropriate policies that protect the rights of the affected and infected
•Provide a basis for mobilization of financial resources and other forms of support for action in the church
•Generate social mobilization to scale up church response to HIV&AIDS.
•Create a Monitoring and evaluation framework for continued assessment of the situation of the church
Out of this activity, a Situation Analysis report is written and submitted (see below).
A Call to Action Conference is then convened to disseminate the results of the situation analysis report and participants do
discuss way forward.
